What started off as a limited edition car ended up as 1/1 in the world! All the LP650-4 cars came one way from Lamborghini with Grigio Telesto grey exterior paint and Arancio Leonis orange highlights. The owner of this car wanted the car matte black with gloss black highlights. This is how the transformation to become an AE Edition car began.

The car was transported by NTT (Norwalk Tow & Transport) to Avio Coach Craft to have the paint work done. The car was striped down to the metal and the complete interior was removed so that a proper complete paint make over could be achieved.

After the paint was completed the car was transported again by NTT to Giovanna Wheels to have the custom made 19” GFG 3-piece forged Narkid wheels and Pirelli tires installed. The wheels were painted with a gloss black outer lip, matte black center and orange highlights to perfectly match the brake calipers. Pirelli P-Zero 245/30/19 front and 355/25/19 rear tires were used to insure a safe and overall perfect fitment for this car.

The Apple iPhone has a built-in accelerometer that rather accurately detects even the slightest motions. Developers have been quick to create applications that capitalize on the iPhone’s hardware, including software that helps enthusiasts obtain g-force and 0-60 times from their phone. We’ve tested a few ourselves and they work pretty well, although most of these apps come at a cost, ranging from $4.99 to $10 or more. If you like the idea of timing your vehicle with the aid of an iPhone but don’t want to pay for an app, BMW has a free solution for you. (more…)

A little more than a year ago, the Porsche tuning specialist at Ruf unveiled their first electric car, the 911-based eRuf. That first iteration was definitely not ready for production, but the crew at Ruf are not known for taking half measures. A few months after the eRuf was shown to the world, the second iteration with more power and lighter batteries appeared as the Greenster at the Geneva Motor Show. Ruf has said it plans to build that car in limited numbers.

Where to even start? Oh right – that interior! With the possible exception of a couple of British-ish cars (BMW-owned Rolls-Royce Phantom, Volkswagen-owned Bentley Mulsanne, Tata-owned Jaguar XJ), no interior even comes close. And frankly, being honest, those luxo-barges just pale in comparison to the blinged out old-world splendor of a Spyker cockpit. And the C8 Aileron Spyder ups that already pricey ante. And get this – all C8s are now built in Coventry, England, shaving about $9,000 off the asking price, which is somewhere south north of $200,000 depending on baubles options.

A couple weeks back, we told you that the unveiling of the production Mini Countryman may be delayed from the Detroit Auto Show in January to the Geneva Motor Show in March. The reasoning behind the move was reportedly due to the fact that Countryman production couldn’t begin at Magna International’s Austrian assembly plant until assembly of the BMW X3 was moved from the Magna plant to Bimmer’s facility in South Carolina.

Images of the next generation Nissan Micra have plopped onto the interwebs, and they have brought with them a revelation we are a little ashamed to have come to so late. First, let us say that we really, really dig the Nissan Micra as it is. Sure, we delight most in its hardcore version, but even the gutless four-door variants have that design going for them: the Micra is wonderfully visually compelling. (more…)

We have liftoff on the next Lotus Esprit. Finally. Scuttlebutt at the beginning of the year suggested it was taking so long because Lotus was pondering some sort of hybrid system for the car. More recently the talk has turned to three specimens from Toyota’s book of engines, including the Lexus LFA’s V10, and the word “hybrid” disappeared. (more…)

The Tokyo Motor Show will be graced with the second generation Mark X, a rear-wheel drive Toyota sedan. As reported on by Egmcartech:

Here in the U.S., if you want a rear-wheel drive sedan from Toyota, you’ll have to buy a Lexus. That’s not the case in Japan. There the motor buying public can opt for the Mark X, the second generation of which will be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show this week. (more…)
