We’ve gone to some unusual places for new product unveilings, but today’s reveal of a new mid-sized sedan from Suzuki may be one of the most ironic. For some reason, the small automaker of mostly small cars chose a World War II memorial in suburban Detroit for the global reveal of its most aggressive attack yet on the heart of the U.S. car market. Just four short months ago a rumor surfaced that Lamborghini would be making a topless version of its hottest model, the F22-inspired Reventon. Word is that today Lambo is showing off it’s most expensive ever ragin’ bull to a super select cabal of people so wealthy that we’ll never understand. Based on the Murcielago, the original carbon fiber Reventon was limited to 20 units (plus one for the museum) and cost just about $1 million. (more…)

When Toyota unveiled the FT-EV Concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, it confirmed that it will launch a full battery-electric vehicle by 2012. According to a report by AutoCar, Toyota’s iQ-based electric car is now scheduled to be launched as early as next year. However, instead of looking like the iQ, the model will get its own body style and will be a stand-alone model as Toyota’s first all-electric car. (more…)

The all-new Mercedes Benz E-Class has now reached showrooms in most parts of the globe, and now we are just a couple of months away from the launch of the ‘Estate’ wagon version. A number of prototypes for the Estate have been spotted near the Mercedes’ headquarters in Germany, revealing the final shape of the car with only the finer details being masked by black camouflage material.
