Prices for this model start at 1.58 million euros ($2.15 million USD).</div>

<p>After unveiling their first Veyron-based model in March 2009, Mansory  are back with another limited edition take on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4.  The first car was transformed into the Linea Vincero, the second one  gets a rather ’special’ gold-coloured treatment. It is named Linea  Vincero d’Oro.<span id="more-5044"></span></p>
<p>Compared with the standard Veyron, the Linea Vincero received a  facelift. Up front, Mansory added new fenders, a shortened bonnet and a  new front apron as well as LED daytime running lights and a stylised  letter “V” built into the car’s bonnet. Side skirts and a new diffuser  are also part of the new design. Larger air outlets at the rear and at  the sides of the car improve the engine cooling. All body components are  made from a carbon fabric with inbuilt copper thread.</p>
<p>Other gold-coloured features complete the Linea Vincero d’Oro, such  as the turbine design alloy wheels, the curved grill featuring the  stylised “Vincero-V”, the door handles, the rear view mirror caps and  the fuel tank cap. The headlight washer nozzle covers, the borders  around the daytime running LEDs and the decorative features on the roof  are all gold too.</p>
<p>The car’s interior has an exclusive look and feel with the LEDs of  the car’s mood lighting system placed in the car’s seats, the door trims  and the dashboard. The entire passenger cabin is a combination of a  golden glow of the lighting and carbon appliqués as well as specially  embossed leather. The airbag steering wheel has inbuilt shift paddles  and gilded elements. Gold alloys can also be found on the decorative  strips of the door trims and on the centre console.</p>

<p>The Bugatti 16 C Galibier is one of the several concepts which the company is considering for a future model. Power comes from a 8.0L 16-cylinder engine that features two-stage supercharging. The engine is flex-fuel compatible, meaning it can run on ethanol. The Bugatti Galibier rides on a four-wheel-drive system and features ceramic brakes and a new suspension design that enables “agile, always-sure handling of a saloon of this size.”</p>

<p>The new Bugatti saloon is depicted in our artist’s impression, which is based closely on the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Bugatti Royale teaser image" href="http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/First-Official-Pictures/Bugattis-new-Royale-2010-the-first-official-photo/">teaser image</a> that leaked out on a VIP invite to prospective owners. They are being shown the car at an exclusive event around the Frankfurt motor show 2009, although it is unlikely to go on sale until 2011 or beyond.</p>
<h2>New Bugatti Royale: the lowdown</h2>
<p>Bugatti’s new saloon will sport the Veyron’s W16, but mounted up front instead of amidships as in the 253mph sports coupé and roadster. Direct injection could figure this time, however, and the limo is tipped to be rear-wheel drive, making it the first modern Bug to eschew 4wd.</p>
<p>The sturdy Ricardo-developed seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox is also carried over on the new C21 Royale. The Veyron’s drivetrain has cost so much to develop, that the bean counters insist on reusing as much as possible rather than re-engineering everything.</p>
<h2>How on earth do they make the Bugatti business model stack up?</h2>
<p>Volkswagen AG chairman Martin Winterkorn reportedly told analysts in the past year that he would fund new Bugattis by using the company’s modular luxury car matrix. In principle, it mimics the platform sharing lower down the VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat foodchain – allowing multiple luxury models to be spun off a common engineering base.</p>
<p>That points to some engineering commonality between new Bugattis and future top-end Bentleys, including perhaps the new 2010 Arnage replacement. The Bugatti Royale will use a longer wheelbase than any related Bentley, however.</p>
<h2>Is the new Royale the spiritual successor to the 1930s one?</h2>
<p>You bet. Six production Royales were built between 1929-1933, powered by a 13-litre straight eight. Known formally as the Type 41, it’s one of the mostly highly regarded luxury cars of all time.</p>
<p>The new Bugatti Royale will be built to exact customer specification with fully coachbuilt options such as an XXL wheelbase, a full-length sunroof or a retro-look aerostyle body all feasible.</p>

<p>reports indicate that the Sang Bleu edition of the Grand Sport which Bugatti unveiled at this past weekend&#8217;s Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance will be the last special edition Veyron that Molsheim will build. With a reported 250 out of the 300 Veyrons initially earmarked for production now built and sold, Bugatti&#8217;s moving on to the next project – tentatively dubbed the Bordeaux. And then the whole shpeil can start all over again.</p>

<p>The Bugatti Bordeaux will be the fastest four-seater in the world powered by its two-seater siblings 8.0L W16 engine making 1,001-hp. 0 to 60 mph should come in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph.</p>
<p>Look out for a concept to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.</p>

According to the exec, the targa option was the only one available to Bugatti “because there was no other solution which could fit with the car’s safety cage”. While the hard-top will be removable, there will be no storage space for the roof within the car, meaning the cover will have to be taken off at home. If the weather turns nasty a concealed fabric cover can be extended to protect the cabin, reports <em>Automotive News</em>.</p>
<p>Without the roof, the car will require added reinforcements and underbody changes to maintain torsional rigidity. These changes are expected to come at a cost to performance, and top speed is rumored to be limited to 217mph (350kmh).</p>
<p>Bugatti is yet to reveal how many convertibles Veyrons will be produced and when the first cars will be available. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/preview-more-on-bugattis-topless-veyron/"><span style="color: #466baf;">Previous reports</span></a> claim production numbers will be somewhat lower than the 300 coupe models, with many suggesting there will be just 80 Targa models.</p>

<p>The production rate has fallen beneath demand on the Bugatti Veyron. Production is nearing 100 and will increase production more.</p>
<p>The Bugatti Veyron does everything with effortless speed. Except, that is, for production, the rate of which is painstakingly slow. So slow, in fact, that the crown jewel in the Volkswagen empire is having trouble meeting demand. Since the hyper-exotic supercar&#8217;s debut in 2005, Bugatti has steadily had to ramp up production, which <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.autoblog.com/2006/03/14/bugatti-cranks-up-veyron-production/">started at 50</a> and is (in true Veyron style) rapidly approaching twice that. Arriving at the same crossroads yet again, the company has announced that it will <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/12/break-the-bank-bugatti-increasing-production-of-veyron/">once more increase output</a> from its Molsheim, France, workshop.</p>

<p>Customers with $1.5 million in hand and a spot on the waiting list should not, however, worry about quality issues commonly associated with rushing production. In order to increase production from 85 to 90 this year, Bugatti is considering shortening the break the factory has traditionally taken in the summer from three weeks down to one, thereby increasing productivity without rushing the job. Nor will the increased production mean more Veyrons produced: the final number will remain 300, of which 220 have already been ordered and 135 produced and delivered to date.</p>

<p><span id="more-312"></span>“When some of our designers were looking at production and once again became aware of the technical beauty of the structure,” says Achim Anscheidt, Head of Bugatti Design, “they came up with the idea of finishing the car in its pure material configuration. And that means without a coating of paint.”</p>
<p>Weighing in at 1,888 kilogrammes, the Pur Sang produces 1,000 horsepower giving it a power / weight ratio of 4.15 lbs per horsepower. Top speed is clocked in at 248 mph.</p>

<p>Bugatti is presenting a special edition of the EB 16.4 Veyron limited to five worldwide &#8211; the Pur Sang &#8211; at the Frankfurt International Auto Show. The limited edition will be numerically consigned to the ranks of overall volume designed for 300 cars.</p>
<p>With the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang the company is continuing a tradition that produced icons like the T57 SC Atlantic and the numerous versions of the T41 Royale. Then as now Bugatti stands for a unique symbiosis of art, design and technology. Precisely this claim &#8211; manifested by company founder Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean &#8211; is reflected by the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang, presented in a world premiere in Frankfurt. Reduced to pure design and technology, a car was created here that again was not the means to an end, but in fact had become a work of art in the sum of its parts. The EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang completely forgoes exterior paint.</p>
<p>The idea for the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang originated in the Bugatti factory in Molsheim. In what’s referred to as the studio where the high-tech components of the Veyron are assembled with painstaking precision. “When some of our designers were looking at production and once again became aware of the technical beauty of the structure,” says Achim Anscheidt, Head of Bugatti Design, “they came up with the idea of finishing the car in its pure material configuration. And that means without a coating of paint.”</p>
<p>The result is the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang, a study in which carbon and aluminum blend into a unique two-tone color, although no paint is involved. “Interestingly,” explains Anscheidt, “the pure materials used to underscore even more clearly the unified extremes of this car. Power combined with comfort, technical structure and organic bodies, light and dark. A closer look at the details reveals the techincal logic behind the stylish appearance. The innovatively designed monocoque carries all main structural components, including the W16 engine, the passenger compartment, the crumple zone and the suspension. It’s precisely this foundation determined by function, made of carbon fiber coated with clear paint, that lies open in view at the heart of the Veyron. The use of aluminum linings is equally forceful. Through the bold and muscular coverings of the wheels as a perfectly designed wing they lend the car its stature and the unique body sculpture. Polished to a mirror finish, these perfectly curved shapes make the facinating surface reflections visible that characterize the Veyron.”</p>
<p>The balance of the visual impression is especially apparent when viewing the Bugatti from above. “These qualities,” says Achim Anscheidt, “merge into a unique appearance &#8211; almost like a painting by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian.” The outstanding representative of classical modern wanted to express the following in his art in the past century: “Beauty across the line and harmony by the balance of relationships between lines, colors and surfaces. But only in the clearest and most powerful way.” This definition has also described a car for over six decades: the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang. The two essential materials of the Pur Sang &#8211; thoroughbred in English &#8211; examined in detail:</p>
<p><strong>Carbon Body</strong></p>
<p>A car can never be light enough. This principal applies all the more so for the Bugatti Veyron, because it was designed for a sporty high performance. This is why the battle for each kilogram of weight has been one of the big constants in the development history of the Bugatti. Special attention was paid to materials: Only one material was used for each component, guaranteeing the best functionality at the lowest weight. Titanium, magnesium, aluminum and carbon fiber proved to be ideal.</p>
<p>Thanks to carbon fiber construction techniques, the monocoque of the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang is not just especially light, but &#8211; as it is known for motorsport &#8211; extremely safe. The monocoque is not just a rigid survival compartment, but can also ideally dissipate crash energy through elastic deformation. The main responsibility for this lies with the frames in which the carbon fiber monocoque is integrated &#8211; done in aluminum in the front and in combination of the carbon fiber and stainless steel at the back.</p>
<p><strong>Aluminum</strong></p>
<p>The parts made of aluminum show the meticulousness and will to perfection the designers of Bugatti pursued in their work. And this doesn’t just apply to the body. The reason for this is that aluminum is normally a recycled product, resulting in a variety of impurities in the alloys. This has no effect on the characteristics of the material, but on its appearance. After polishing and anodizing the aluminum there can be different degrees of gloss. Not so on the inside of the Veyron, where aluminum is used with the material corresponding to the body shell: If you look closely, you can see that there are no differences in gloss here. Because a single, special alloy is used exclusively in the Veyron: AlMgSi 0.3 Vitral 42. No work is done with other alloys.</p>
<p>All told, 1,888 kilogrammes of net weight stand in contrast to performance of 1,000 hp. This results in a power / weight ration of 1.88 kg/hp (4.15 lbs./hp) an excellent relationship that also positions the 400 km/h fast EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang beyond everything previously known.</p>
