At the 2011 LA Auto Show next week, Jaguar will unveil the drop-top version of the XKR-S sports car. The Jaguar XKR-S will be joined by the C-X16 Concept, which will be making its North American debut for the first time.

Power for the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible will come from the same 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine making 550-hp with a maximum torque of 502 lb-ft of torque. 0 to 60 mph will take around 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph.

The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book will be graced with an exclusive 2010 Jaguar XJL according to Egmcartech.

Jaguar announced today that it will offer the 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition, exclusively through the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book later this month.

Power for the 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition comes from a 5.0L V8 engine with an Eaton supercharger making 470-hp. It is mated to Jaguar’s Sequential Shift 6-speed ZF automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddles shifters.

The new 2010 Jaguar XJ made its auto show debut in Frankfurt yesterday. The model will go on sale in the U.S. later this year with prices starting at $72,500 (deliveries will begin in 2010).

Pricing for the XJL will start at $79,500, which carries a naturally aspirated V8. The 470-hp XJ Supercharged and the XJL Supercharged will carry a price tag of $87,500 and $90,500, respectively. The top-of-the-line 5.0L XJ and XJL Supersport will start at a $112,000 and $115,000, respectively.

Jaguar has released additional images of its new 2010 Jaguar XJ, which will go on sale in the U.S. in December 2009 with prices starting at  $72,500.

Engine choices on the XJ will include a 385-hp 5.0L naturally aspirated V8, a 470-hp 5.0L supercharged V8 and a 510-hp 5.0L supercharged V8.

The Jaguar XFR is a saber-toothed tiger of feline badness. The supercharged, direct-injection V8 is good for a jungle-canopy-shaking 510 horsepower – 125 hp up on the naturally aspirated V8 – and 0-to-60 bolt that takes but 4.7 seconds.

Further up in the range, getting from 50 mph to 70 mph takes – get this – 1.9 seconds. And even better, the gas mileage stays the same compared to the previous-generation 4.2-liter V8.

Inside, Jaguar’s theatrics are upped by the addition of a dark mesh aluminum finish in the fascia and door panels, the latter of which are for the screaming 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. The navigation system gets turn-by-turn instructions in the message center, and there’s an acoustically laminated windscreen for quieter motoring. The modified Jaguar XFR driven by Paul Gentilozzi has safety gear and a low-mounted rear spoiler allowing the supercharger to hit 600 horsepower.

In its spare time while reinventing the company and settling in with a new owner, Jaguar’s boffins somehow found time to take their new XFR to the Bonneville Salt Flats for a top speed run last November.

The Paul Gentilozzi-driven XFR had been modified with the appropriate safety gear (roll cage, fire suppression system, etc.), along with a sizable low-mounted rear spoiler and a derestricted ECU that allowed the supercharger to yield around 600 horsepower thanks to a bit more boost. So-equipped, the 503-horsepower sedan blew through the double-ton to top out at 225.675 miles-per-hour, solidly trouncing the previous Jaguar land speed record of 217.1 mph set by an XJ220 at Nardo back in 1992 with Martin Brundle at the wheel. For reference, the standard XFR is electronically limited to 155 mph.

Incredibly, the Bonneville run was completed on stock Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires, and the Rocketsports-prepared XFR was still registering a bit of wheelspin at that speed.

There has only been speculation and spy pics on a planned Panamera and Rapide challenger by Jaguar, but Channel 4 reported that Jaguar officials confirmed these plans and will introduce a new “saloon” later in the year that “takes the luxury saloon to new heights in terms of its technical enhancements.”

Although this new sedan will eventually replace the XJ in the company’s lineup, it is said to be radically different from the traditional sedan. Imagine XF detailing on a four-door XK and you won’t be far off from the vehicle that’s due to show up later this year.

No official details have been reported, but Jaguar officials are apparently mentioning the Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte, Aston Martin Rapide and Mercedes-Benz CLS as competition. Engine options will likely include Jaguar’s new 3.0L V6 diesel as well as the new direct-injection, 5.0L gas V8s in naturally aspirated or supercharged form. The car should be revealed later this year, making 2009 a very busy year for the company. Jaguar is already set to unveil the supercharged XF-R, as well as updated XJ, XK and XKR models, along with its new V8 and V6 diesel engines at the Detroit Auto Show next week. We can hardly wait.

Tata has given the green light for the Jaguar XE production, according to some reports. Insiders call the sports car an XE or F-Type and will be positioned against the Porsche 911 while facing competition from the highly anticipated and upcoming Maserati sportscar in 2012.

Ford signed a $2.3 billion dollar deal with Tata Motors to sell Jaguar and Land Rover.

According to Automotive News, the deal is done. Today Ford signed a deal with India-based Tata Motors to sell its Jaguar and Land Rover brands for over $2.3 billion. Ford will supposedly announce the deal officially tomorrow (Wednesday), but sources close to the transaction say the receipt’s already been printed, so to speak. While details are scarce, AN does mention that Ford will pump around $598 million into the pension funds for each brand as it sends them on their way. We’re waiting to hear more details about how Ford will continue to supply engines and components for these vehicles, for how long and how much. Right now, however, mum’s the word, as the Blue Oval has only said that, “our first responsibility is to communicate with our employees.” Sorry if they heard it here first, but then again, they should be working now, not reading Autoblog. Right? Right.
