The £9,495 1.0 VVT-i manual iQ is launching in January for Europe. The U.S. will get the same model under the Scion brand, according to Toyota. In addition to the current model Toyota has more variants of the iQ planned.

According to German magazine Auto Motor und sport, Toyota is working on the two-seat roadster based on the iQ.

Currently Toyota is working on the concept that will make its debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. If the concept proves to be popular enough then it will very likely enter the production.

No information on the potential power sources, but most likely the same engines will be offered as on the iQ. These would be modest 1.0-liter, 1.3-liter gasoline engines and 1.4-liter diesel engine.

Once produced iQ Roadster would find its way to the U.S. dealerships under Scion brand.
